This is a very impressive table or floor lamp, model 'Gherpe' made by Superstudio for Poltronova, Italy. A design from 1967. This animal-like table lamp can take on many forms, thanks to its 6 curved sheets made of Plexiglass that are attached to a central, chrome plated base. The sheets radiate 180 degrees from the base. The bulb holder is mounted on the base and two black circular knobs on either side secure the sheets to the base. The smallest acrylic sheet has an indentation so the electric cord can come out.
