This 1920's modernist cabinet was designed for the former and well known Dutch furniture factory L.O.V Oosterbeek. L.O.V. is an abbreviation of Labor Omnia Vincit, which means "Work conquers all". L.O.V. Oosterbeek was an idealistic furniture company from the 1920s, where important Dutch designers worked or started their career, such as F. Spanjaard, H.F. Mertens, J. Crouwel and J.A. van Muntendam.
This cabinet is made mainly of solid oak and has a smooth Macassar wooden doorknob. The back plate is blackened as are some details behind the door. The top originally was blackened as well, but this faded mostly, leaving a slightly darker top. The cabinet is marked by L.O.V. Oosterbeek. It has been polished and only needed minimal restauration. The door closing system has been replaced, furthermore it is original with some light signs of age and us.
We also have a matching daybed and bedroom set of table and chairs available, from the same source.
