The iconic AJ Royal pendant lamp by Louis Poulsen is a design by the well-known Danish architect Arne Jacobsen from 1958 for the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen. It was a hot item in the 1960's and still a perfect dining area pendant today. The AJ Royal was, at least in Holland, one of the most popular midcentury modern lamps in the 1960's. It gives an intimate shining since it is closed with the light going downwards, but also gives a nice soft upward spread of the light due to the top. This piece is a light grey version and is in a very good vintage condition with minor signs of age and use. The wiring has a steel cable inside to help carry the weight of the pendant.
