This rare and complete seating group is a design by Kho Liang Ie for the company of Artifort. Kho Liang Ie joined Artifort in 1958 as estethic advisor. The 020 model was designed in 1958 and was a turning point for Artifort in their designs and was a representation of Artiforts new design philosophy. This can be considered as their first modernist design and for many to follow. The seating group offered is, considering age and use, in a very good condition. The frame is bright and shiny is is constructed by connecting the legs with the horizontal black metal parts and the upper horizontal chrome part on the back. The structure is very visible in this design as well as how the seat is put onto the frame. The seats are all upholstered in the same black leather. Also the backs are upholstered in leather so it can be placed in the middle of a room. The upholstery has been redone a few years ago and has some minor signs of age and use, no missing buttons. The table is of the same material for the frame, with a black lacquered wooden top. This top does show some light scratching from age and use. The bottom of the table is labelled with the original and early Artifort label. It says WT in the logo. This stands for Wagemans & Van Tuinen, the precursor of Artifort. This label/logo was a design by Kho Liang Ie in collaboration wwith Harrie Sierman. All frames have been polished and are in a very good condition. This seating group can be placed straight to use. The measurements given are for the sofa. The chair has the following measurements: W: 66.5cm, D: 70cm, H: 77cm The table has the following measurements: W: 67cm, D: 69cm, H: 33cm
