This beautiful adjustable rattan lounge chair, model 516a, was designed by Dirk van Sliedregt for Gebr. Jonkers Noordwolde in about 1952. This chair is the rattan version of model '514a' which does have a metal frame. The chair has the original label by 'Jonkers Meubel' ('Jonkers Furniture'). It consists out of 2 loose parts that are attached by a leather strap at the back. The leather strap allows the seating part to be repositioned into a more lounging position. The chair has been expertly checked and some smaller repairs have expertly been done at a few spots with new rattan. This chair is ready to be used for many years to come. Seat height: 20cm at the lowest part and 35 cm at the knee. This chair is documented in the book "Dirk van Sliedrecht".
