This stunning cocoon pendant lamp, model Kattala, was designed by Fridel Wauer in the 1950's and produced for Goldkant-Leuchten in the early 1960's. It is has 4 stacked globes made of a metal wire frame and a 'cocoon' spray-on plastic coating. Each globe holds a lightbulb. It is in a good but patinated condition. The balls show some discoloration at places and the frame, not visible, does have rust. This lamp reminds us also of the lamps of the Italian designer Achille Castiglioni. This lamp is a true eye-catcher in your room and when lit, it spreads a beautiful warm light.
