This set of 2 chairs is a early model 116 chair by Wim Rietveld for Gispen. This set show the original stamp on the bottom that says "Gispen Culemborg". The shells of both chairs have gotten new lacquer in their pasts. This is very nicely done with a colored lacquer that still shows the wood grain and the stamp. The metal frame is lacquered in white with blackened floor stops. These chairs, from their first owner, were used by the lady of the house for doing her needlework, so no intensive use.
The shockmounts are still in a very good condition. A lovely set of two that is sold as such.
