This vintage hairdressers wash basin was designed in 1927 by Olymp, a Stuttgart-based family business that exists since 1901 and sets up hairdressing salons all over the world. This piece was Olympus' first hygienic, functional forward sink with invented mixing faucet and shower head sprayer. The sink provides a black metal cabinet that is made of Phosphatized steel; a method of protecting a steel surface from corrosion and increasing its resistance to wear through the application of a chemical phosphate conversion coating. The cabinet has two doors and two drawers with aluminum grips. The drawers are stamped on the bottom with the year 1958, the year that they were coated with the Phosphate coating. One drawer provides a wooden inlay for combs, scissors etc. All in a good condition with signs of age and use. We have 5 wash basins with several cabinets available. Stunning objects that would look good in any barbershop. Measured height including tap: 69,5 cm.
