This very impressive lamp model 'Stijl-relief', was designed for Raak Amsterdam in the 1960's. The design is inspired by the cubistic works of the famous art movement 'De Stijlgroep': "a square tableau with accurate rythmic divided areas of colour that are different in height, by melting alchemical glass. Mysterious glass clots are formed in the search for the 'philosopher's stone' refined by the oven fire". Documented in the Raak catalogue 8 of 1968, page 42. An extraordinary piece that gives a beautiful warm light. It is marked by RAAK and is in a good condition with signs of age and use. Some chiploss that is hidden behind the metal part.
